Follow these steps to apply for the SASSA social grants:
- Click the SASSA services web portal: https://services.sassa.gov.za/
- Select “Register A New Account.”
- Click on “I Agree” and select the Apply button
- Now, complete the “Client Registration” e-form with these necessary details:
- Citizenship (South African citizen/permanent resident/refugee)
- Identity Number (Your ID serves as the Login Username)
- ID document type (ID document/temporary ID)
- Confirm your ID number
- Choose User Title (Mr/Mrs/Miss)
- Provide Surname and Full name
- Share an active Email address
- Set a password (must be a strong password)
- Confirm the password you’ve chosen
- Provide a 10-digit South African cellphone number
- Click “Register Me” after entering the information.
Upon completion, you should expect a confirmation message with either an OTP or a link sent to your cellphone number for finalizing registration. Once your account is ready, proceed to apply for social grants.
